Shine Softly - a weekly letter from my world to yours

Most emails tell you what to do.

This one catches you in the act of hiding.

I’m Andrea – Soulful Challenger, writer and maker. For 25 years I’ve helped people shed the layers that aren’t theirs and remember who they actually are underneath.

I hold up a mirror. And I don’t let you look away.

Every Sunday, I share an observation from life, work or somewhere in between. A conversation, a hidden clue, or a moment most people would walk straight past. The kind of thing that makes you stop and think: “Oof. That’s me.”

But thinking isn’t the point. Reading about hiding won’t change anything. The work starts when you notice yourself in a letter and decide to do something with what you’ve seen.

That’s where Shine Softly is different. It’s not inspiration or self-improvement. It’s a weekly nudge to stop pretending you haven’t noticed. And if it speaks to you, write back and tell me what you’re going to do.

When you sign up, this arrives first. The opening chapter of She’ll Do It Her Waymy memoir. You’ll see yourself in my stories before you’ve read a single letter. Readers tell me it’s the moment they realised they don’t have to explain this.

What readers say

“I read your letter and finally had the conversation.

“Your letter annoyed me. Two days later I realised you were right.”

“It’s like you’re living inside my head.”

“Your letters are the only ones that really speak to me. So many sign ups promise everything and quickly turn into noise.”

“I never delete yours without reading them. I still have our first letters in a folder named ‘self growth.'”

“I just moved a chair to face the sea, made my cacao, and had to think of you. I needed something different this morning, and your letters gave me permission to find it.”

Once you catch yourself in the act of hiding, you can't pretend you didn't. It's so much harder to carry on as if you haven't.
